Australia and New Zealand experienced continuing difficult trading
conditions as housing activities in both markets remained at the bottom
of the cycle for the fourth consecutive year.

Wattyl’s financial position remains strong, with net debt of $46.5 million
at 30 June 2008, compared to $48.0 million at 30 June 2007.
